Questions or requests →

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By registering a Mandal, accepting an invitation, signing in or using UtsavArpan, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you act for a Mandal or other organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms on its behalf.

2. The service

UtsavArpan is provided by Sarsam Inc. as a digital platform for Mandal registration, role-based access, Utsav ledgers, public Mandal pages, donation receipts, expenses, donor history, financial reports and optional UPI donation instructions. The service may evolve while it is in development.

UtsavArpan is not a bank, UPI application, payment service provider, payment aggregator, trustee or escrow service. Sarsam Inc. does not receive, hold, transfer or settle donation funds. A UPI payment is authorized in the donor’s chosen third-party UPI application and goes directly to the UPI account displayed before payment.

3. Accounts and role responsibility

Users must sign in with their own approved Google account, keep that account secure and provide accurate information. Access depends on the role assigned by the Owner or Mandal leadership. Users must not share accounts, bypass permissions or allow an unauthorized person to use their session.

The App Owner manages Mandal registration and platform administration. Presidents, Vice Presidents, Treasurers, Administrators and custom roles must act only within their granted authority.

4. Mandal responsibilities

  • Obtain any authorization or consent required before entering personal information.
  • Keep donor, transaction, expense, member and payment-verification information accurate.
  • Assign the minimum access each member needs and promptly remove outdated access.
  • Review receipts and reports before distributing or relying on them.
  • Use only a UPI account that the Mandal is authorized to publish and use for collections. If it belongs to a member, obtain that member’s informed approval and accurately identify the account holder and authorized collection role to donors.
  • Reconcile every claimed UPI payment against the receiving bank or UPI account before verifying it or issuing a receipt.
  • Maintain any additional records required by the Mandal, its auditor, bank, tax adviser or applicable law.

5. Acceptable use

You must not use UtsavArpan to commit fraud, misrepresent collections, violate privacy, harass donors, upload unlawful content, damage the service, test its security without permission, access another Mandal’s data, or use automated methods that create unreasonable load or spam.

6. Donor information and privacy

A Mandal may use donor information only for legitimate Mandal purposes such as donation administration, receipt delivery, accounting and authorized follow-up. UtsavArpan may process this information as described in the Privacy Policy. Users must not export, copy or disclose donor information for unrelated personal, political, advertising or commercial activity.

7. Optional UPI donations

An authorized Mandal role may activate a UPI ID belonging either to the Mandal or to an approved member acting as its collection representative. The public donation screen identifies the payee and, for a member’s personal UPI account, the authorized collector. Donors must review those details in both UtsavArpan and their UPI application before approving a payment.

UtsavArpan may create a QR code or app link containing the UPI ID, payee name, donor-selected amount and a payment note. The donor remains in control of the amount and must authorize the transfer in their UPI application. After discussing a donation with a donor, an authorized Mandal role may create a personalized link with a prefilled suggested amount. That amount is only a starting value: the donor may increase or reduce it before continuing, and the link does not display past donation amounts or create an amount owed.

Tapping “I have paid” records a payment claim only. It is not proof that the transfer succeeded. The donor must submit that claim within 48 hours of starting the payment. An authorized Mandal user should compare the claim with the receiving account, record the bank or UPI reference, and verify or reject it within 7 days after the donor’s submission. After 7 days, an unresolved claim is marked Verification overdue rather than rejected or deleted. It can still be verified after reconciliation, but the Mandal user must record a reason for the late verification in the audit trail. The donation enters the ledger and a receipt is created only after verification. Donors should keep their UPI application or bank confirmation until verification is complete.

Failed, pending, reversed, duplicate, incorrectly directed or disputed transfers are handled through the donor’s UPI application or bank and the Mandal or named payee, as applicable. The Mandal or payee is responsible for refunds and collection disputes. Sarsam Inc. may assist with UtsavArpan records but cannot authorize, reverse or refund a UPI transfer. Mandatory rights and remedies remain unaffected.

8. Receipts and financial reports

UtsavArpan receipts acknowledge information entered or verified by an authorized Mandal user. They are not automatically tax-deduction certificates, audited statements, independent bank confirmations or government-issued documents. Reports and balances depend on the completeness and accuracy of entries. The Mandal remains responsible for verification and legal or accounting compliance.

9. Changes, voids and audit records

Authorized users may edit, void, approve or restore records according to their role. UtsavArpan may retain audit information showing who performed an action and why. Users must provide truthful reasons when the service requests them.

10. Subscriptions, suspension and limits

Access may depend on an active subscription, applicable Utsav limits and payment of agreed charges. We may pause or restrict access when a subscription expires, when requested by the authorized account holder, to address security or legal risk, or for a material breach of these Terms. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, fees and renewal terms will be those communicated when the Mandal subscribes.

11. Availability and changes

We aim to provide a dependable service but do not promise uninterrupted availability. Features may be improved, replaced or temporarily unavailable for maintenance, security or legal reasons. During the development phase, users should verify important exports and retain copies needed for Mandal governance.

12. Third-party services

Google authentication, WhatsApp sharing, browser downloads, banks, UPI applications and other external services are governed by their providers’ terms. UtsavArpan is not responsible for a third-party service’s availability, account restrictions, transaction decisions or handling of information after a user chooses to send it there.

13. Intellectual property

UtsavArpan, its branding, software, page designs and service materials belong to Sarsam Inc. or its licensors. These Terms permit authorized use of the service; they do not transfer ownership. Each Mandal retains responsibility for and any rights it has in the information it enters.

14. Ending access and deletion

A Mandal may stop using the service subject to its subscription arrangement. Authorized roles may remove member access and use available deletion or recovery controls. Some information may remain temporarily for recovery, security, audit, payment reconciliation, dispute resolution or legal compliance. Permanent deletion may be irreversible.

15. Disclaimers and liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, UtsavArpan is provided without a guarantee that every feature will be error-free or suitable for every accounting, tax, payment or regulatory requirement. Sarsam Inc. is not responsible for losses caused by inaccurate entries, unauthorized account use, an incorrectly configured or disclosed UPI account, a donor authorizing payment to the wrong payee, decisions made solely from unverified claims or reports, or third-party services. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded.

16. Applicable law and disputes

These Terms are subject to applicable law. The parties should first attempt to resolve a concern in good faith through the contact process below. Mandatory rights and remedies available under applicable consumer, payment or data-protection law remain unaffected.

17. Updates to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the service develops. The updated date will appear at the top of this page. Continued use after an update means acceptance where permitted by law; when required, we will request fresh acceptance.

18. Contact

Questions about these Terms, subscriptions or service access may be submitted through the UtsavArpan enquiry form.

Important: These Terms are a practical operating draft for the current development phase. Sarsam Inc. should have them reviewed by qualified counsel before large-scale commercial onboarding or paid subscriptions.
